My Marriage Picrosal (Or: How I proposed to my fiance using Picross DS)
Far be it from me to get all sappy and romantic but since I’m getting married in a few short months (July 5) we opened our wedding blog (located here). I’ve been getting a few emails asking me how I proposed. Well as with all things in my life I wanted it to be kind of nerdy and figured you hopeless romantics that read this blog might get a kick out of it.
The idea came to me when I picked up a little game for the Nintendo DS called Picross DS (yes I know about the other versions for the SNES and GB and love all of them.)

For those of you who havn’t played it it’s basically a puzzle game where the numbers on the left and top side of the screen represent individual tiles inside a picture. 2,2 on a row means there is 2 blocks next to each other followed by at least one space and then another 2 blocks. (To play some puzzles for free online and get acquainted with the game please click here)
Using Picross DS you have a variety of modes avaliable to you. Including the ability to create your own Picross puzzle. Now I’ll admit I’m not much of an artist (heck using the stylus and the DS I downright suck) so using the “make your own Picross” mode I drew a rough outline of a ring in the puzzle mode.

My response to the “What have you been playing this week?” question on almost every podcast has been “nothing” so since I actually played something this week, I thought I’d post about it.
I just want to let everyone know that I love playing games and the only reason I don’t play many is because I simply do not have the time.
Here’s my list!

Ever wanted to draw your favourite Nintendo characters? Well now you can using the scans from this book that came out in the 90s. We got our copy at a school book fair years ago and I know that it’s pretty hard to find. Sorry for the bad scans!
Here’s the characters you can learn to draw: Link, Zelda, Armos, Lizalfos, Donkey Kong, Chunky Kong, Diddy Kong, King K. Rool, Snide, Tiny Kong, Mario, Luigi, Kerog (Bowser), Toad, Priness Toadstool (Peach), Wario and Yoshi.

I found this a while ago online but noticed it while I was doing some spring cleaning on my computer. For the uninitiated this is a papercraft model of the Great Mighty Poo from Conker’s Bad Fur Day for the N64 & Xbox. Download the files, print it out get yourself some scissors and glue and build your own!

Filed under Games, Papercraft | Comment (0)Finally beat Donkey Kong Country 3!
It took a heck of a time but I finally finished DKC 3!

A few thoughts I had about this game:
What I liked:
- Easier than the other 2 in the series.
- Great Music.
- Fun/Original boss fights.
- Innovative overworld.
- Fantastic level design.
- Didn’t have to pay to save your game.
What I didn’t like:
- Who the hell is Kiddy Kong?
- The story just seemed to come out of no where!
- Despite sprites of Diddy & Donkey being in the game why couldn’t I play as them even as unlockables?
- No explanation of events.
- Pointless lives system.
More after the break!
